Use this page to understand how auctions work, how winners are chosen, and what happens after you win.
1) About Bon La Vie Auctions
What is a Bon La Vie Auction?
Bon La Vie Auctions are time-bound online auctions where customers place bids in INR on selected products (e.g., Hot Wheels collectibles). The highest bidder at the end of the timer wins the right to purchase the item at their final bid price.
Is this the same as a regular “buy now” purchase?
No. In an auction, you’re competing with other bidders. Winning an auction reserves the item for you for a limited time so you can complete payment.
Do I need an account to participate?
Yes. You must be logged in to place a bid, track your bids, and complete payment if you win.
Are auctions available to everyone?
Auctions are intended for retail customers. We may restrict access in cases of suspected misuse, fraud, or policy violations.
2) Auction Timing & Listings
When do auctions take place?
Auctions run on scheduled times/days. The start time and countdown timer are displayed on the auction page.
How long does an auction last?
Each auction has a fixed duration shown on the auction page.
Why do I sometimes see “No products found”?
This can happen when:
- Today’s auction hasn’t started yet
- Today’s auction has ended
- Items are temporarily not visible while we prepare the next auction
3) Bidding
How do I place a bid?
Open the auction item, enter a bid amount in INR higher than the current highest bid, and confirm.
Are bids in points or money?
All bids are placed in INR. Bon La Vie points are not used for auctions.
What is the minimum bid increase?
Each auction has defined bid rules (e.g., minimum increments). The current bid and next valid bid requirement (if applicable) will be shown on the product page.
Can I cancel or withdraw a bid?
No. Once placed, bids are binding and cannot be withdrawn.
Why did the timer extend after someone placed a bid?
To support fair competition, the timer may extend slightly when a bid is placed close to the end of the auction.
Can I bid from multiple devices?
Yes, as long as you’re using the same logged-in account. For the best experience, avoid placing simultaneous bids from multiple devices.
Is there a maximum bid limit?
A maximum bid cap may apply on certain auctions. If so, it will be clearly shown.
4) Winning & Payment
What happens when I win an auction?
If you are the highest bidder when the timer ends, you become the provisional winner and the item is reserved for you.
How long do I have to make the payment?
You have 24 hours from the time you win to complete payment.
What happens if I don’t pay within 24 hours?
If payment is not completed within 24 hours, the win is forfeited and the item may be listed again in a future auction.
Will I be reminded to pay?
We may send reminders (email/app notifications) during the payment window, but it’s your responsibility to complete payment in time.
What do I pay if I win?
You pay the final winning bid amount, plus any applicable taxes and shipping charges shown at checkout.
Can I request an extension on the 24-hour payment window?
No. Payment timelines are strict to ensure fairness for all bidders. Extensions are not possible.
If you face any difficulty completing payment, please reach out to us immediately so we can assist where possible within the payment window.
Payment windows are generally fixed to keep auctions fair for all bidders. In exceptional cases, support may review requests at its discretion.
5) Orders, Shipping & Delivery
When will my item ship?
After successful payment, your order is processed and shipped according to the delivery timeline shown at checkout.
Are there any delivery charges?
Yes. If the final checkout value is below INR 1,000, a delivery charge of INR 200 will be applied.
Orders with a checkout value of INR 1,000 or above may be eligible for free or discounted delivery, as shown at checkout.
Can I change my shipping address after winning?
You can update delivery details during checkout/payment where available. Once the order is confirmed, changes may be limited.
What if my item arrives damaged?
Contact support with photos and your order details. We’ll guide you through the resolution process.
6) Returns, Cancellations & Refunds
Are auction items eligible for returns?
No. All auction items are final sale and are not eligible for returns or exchanges.
What if my item arrives damaged?
We strongly encourage customers to record a clear, continuous unboxing video as proof in case of transit damage.
The video must:

Clearly show the shipping label and invoice/bill on the sealed package

Show the entire unboxing process without any cuts or edits

Clearly capture the damage, if any
If damage is identified and supported by this video evidence, our support team will review the case and assist accordingly.
What if I accidentally bid too high?
Bids are binding, and auction items are final sale. Please bid carefully and set a personal budget before bidding.
What if Bon La Vie cancels an auction?
We may cancel or re-run an auction due to technical issues, listing errors, or suspected policy violations. If this happens, impacted users will be notified where possible.
7) Fair Play & Account Integrity
What behavior is not allowed?
To keep auctions fair, the following may result in bid cancellation or account restriction:
- Suspicious or fraudulent activity
- Attempting to manipulate bids
- Automated scripts/bots
- Multiple accounts used to game auctions
Why was my account restricted from bidding?
Restrictions can occur due to security concerns, unusual activity, failed payments, or policy violations. Contact support if you believe this is an error.
8) Troubleshooting
I placed a bid but don’t see it reflected.
Refresh the page and check your network connection. If it still doesn’t appear, contact support with screenshots.
I’m unable to place a bid.
Common reasons include: not being logged in, the auction has ended, bid amount is invalid, or account restrictions.
The page shows an error at checkout.
Try again after refreshing or using another payment method. If the issue persists, contact support.
